How To Get Started With Gardening

If you are trying to get started with gardening. If you’re interested in planting your own garden, it may be best to start with small plants like herbs.

Think about the herbs you cook with most often and buy the seeds that you need to start your herb garden.

When you’re growing herbs, you’ll need to expose them to direct sunlight for at least five hours each day.

Place the garden containers on a windowsill that will expose them to as much sunlight as possible.

Many of the herbs that are easy to grow indoors are native to the Mediterranean, which means they thrive in warm weather.

It’s also best to keep your home between 65 and 70 degrees while your edible plants are growing.

Vegetable crops like peppers and tomatoes also need a considerable amount of sunlight to thrive, so be sure to place these by the window as well.

If you live in an area that doesn’t receive much sunlight, or if you’re starting your garden during the fall and winter months.  You can purchase lights from your local garden supply store.

The lights will mimic the light of the sun and keep your crops from wilting or underdeveloping.
